Photo - Southsea Lighthouse and Castle with the Solent beyond.

Southsea Castle Light: 50deg 46.69min North 001deg 05.3min West. The lighthouse guides vessels along the approach channel to Portsmouth Harbour. A large and busy naval harbour with many ferries and the home port of thousands of yachts.

There are a number of lights: (a) Iso 2s 16m 11M vis: 337-071 deg and (b) Dir lt 001.5deg WRG 11m W13M, R5M, G5M. and (c) vis 351.5 FG 357.5, Al WG (W phase incr with brg), 000 FW 003, AlWR (R phase incr with bearing), 005.5 FR 011.5

The Castle was built by Henry 8th in 1544. It was from here that King Henry watched his state of art warship the Mary Rose sink.
